Charlotte, NC was lit last Saturday at @theplayroomnc as we hosted our Mix & Master Seminar led by @beatsbydsims and our VIP Beat Showcase hosted by @theletterlbeats featuring our very special guest, @1djplugg.
@beatsbydsims led off with his signature Pro Tools Mix & Master course, ushering attendees through a Gucci Mane vocal session and showing the ins and outs of engineering the Atlanta sound.
The VIP Beat Showcase Saturday night was lit! The Rosé Black Bottle Girls were in the building. DJ Plugg cooked up, answered all of the attendees’ questions about making beats and navigating the music industry and listened to the best beats Charlotte had to offer. Four of the top 25 producers who entered won a collab with DJ Plugg. @theletterlbeats was on the 1s and 2s, returning attendees Mark Shotta & DJ South were in the exclusive VIP section, and the event was a big success.
DJ Plugg Making a Beat at Producergrind Event
The Producergrind team recovered from its bus trip to Baltimore and road tripped in the Sprinter van for this NC event. We got a chance to really analyze and curate our official Spotify Playlist, Tha Spill. As well, we discussed the Cassius Jay/Non Stop Da Hitman beef in depth. As we listened to one of the songs from the list, Land of The Freaks, which also happened to be one of the songs that Cassius and Non Stop had a conflict about, we realized that Land of The Freaks contained a pitched up melody loop created by one of our own Producergrind team members Hez The Producer. As we continue to follow the Cassius Jay/Non Stop Da Hitman situation, the plot is getting thick as a cup of Actavis and Sprite.
